School Guidelines

At Sisters Elementary School, our guidelines are designed to help create a safe, welcoming, respectful, and productive learning environment for every student. Families play an important role in helping students understand school expectations and develop habits that support success throughout the school year.

Have questions? Please contact Sisters Elementary School for more information or assistance.

Attendance & Arriving on Time

Regular attendance is an important part of student learning. Families are encouraged to make daily attendance and arriving at school on time a priority. When a student will be absent, parents or caregivers should notify the school office.

Whenever possible, appointments and family travel should be scheduled outside of the school day to help students stay connected to classroom learning.

Arrival & Dismissal

Student safety is especially important during the busy arrival and dismissal portions of the day. Families should follow established school procedures for student drop-off, pick-up, transportation changes, and bus transportation.

If your child's end-of-day plans change, please communicate those changes with the school as early as possible so staff can help ensure your child gets to the correct location safely.

Health & Wellness

Students learn best when they are healthy and ready for the school day. Families should keep students home when they are ill and communicate with the school when health concerns may affect attendance or participation.

Medication that needs to be administered during the school day must follow school and district procedures. Families should contact the school office with questions regarding medications, illness, or other student health needs.

Personal Belongings

Students should bring the items they need for learning while leaving unnecessary or distracting belongings at home. Personal items should be clearly labeled whenever possible.

Families are encouraged to check with their child's teacher or the school office before sending special items, treats, or other materials to school.

Technology & Personal Devices

Technology can be a valuable learning tool when used appropriately. Students are expected to follow school and district expectations for responsible technology use.

Personal electronic devices can also create distractions during the school day. Families should review current school expectations regarding cell phones, smartwatches, and other personal devices with their child.

Respectful & Safe

Behavior SES students are expected to treat others with kindness and respect, follow directions from staff, care for school property, and make choices that contribute to a safe learning environment.

When concerns arise, our goal is to work together with students and families to help children learn from their choices, solve problems, and develop the skills they need to be successful members of our school community.
